The Pelican Wheelchair Boot Slider features a practical three-part system that allows a manual wheelchair to be rolled onto a slider platform, which is then lifted and slid into the boot of a car. This design uses the car’s edge to bear most of the weight, minimising physical strain on carers.
Made from heavy-duty plastic, the Boot Slider has a curved front edge that tucks under footplates and a raised rear section to prevent the foot from slipping backwards.
The system includes a Boot Blanket to protect vehicle surfaces and aid in smooth sliding, a Slider Platform with stop straps to secure the wheelchair, and a Ground Protector with a retrieval strap for easy handling and damage prevention.
The entire device is lightweight and portable, weighing just 6kg (excluding wheelchair).
