2019 Australian Podiatry Conference

The 2019 Australian Podiatry Conference provides an excellent opportunity for Podiatrists of all states to gather under one roof to discuss all things Podiatry. Featuring keynote speakers from all corners of the globe, various exhibitors (like us!) and many networking opportunities, even the most experienced Podiatrist is sure to gain some useful knowledge from the conference.

This year the National Podiatry Conference will be held in Adelaide, with a conference theme surrounding “Physical Activity – Feet – Wider Health”.

The ageing global population has seen a dramatic increase in the frequency of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, arthritis, obesity, cancer and heart disease. A common observation is that these diseased are often present with a noticeable lack of physical activity participation in those affected.

These trends make today a good time to raise awareness and education around these issues within our profession. Sporting many workshops, educational sessions and presentations, the 2019 Australian Podiatry Conference is one not to be missed by today’s best Podiatrists.

How to get the most out of the conference:

Plan your days. There are a large amount of speakers, exhibitors and workshops to visit – it would be almost impossible to see them all! Make sure you map out the particular events, workshops and booths you want to visit and be sure to schedule a bit of down time!

Networking is always a large benefit of attending conferences. Don’t be afraid of introducing yourself to the fellow Podiatrist next to you – they’ll be just as interested as you are in the conference, and more than willing to have a chat.

Apply what you learn. It’s excellent to participate in CPD opportunities but if you don’t implement the lessons you learn, it was all for nothing!
